Channel 4
Goals
To commemorate their 25th birthday, Channel 4 launched a limited edition book full of thought provoking, informative and irreverent articles and essays written by a selection of contributors who have had some degree of involvement with Channel 4 over that time.
Our challenge was to take all this information and represent it appropriately for an online audience.
Solution
Taking content from one medium and moving it successfully onto another can be incredibly problematic. In the case of 25x4 we wanted to keep the core feel, sentiment and structure of the book, but make it work online.
We analysed the structure of the content and fully cross referenced it, linking it together internally within the website as well as externally with the main Channel 4 site and beyond.
The result is a compendium of thought provoking work, with each chapter dealing with a single theme and launching a wealth of associated information and media.
It is true to the book for which the content was originally created and is also a world away from it, designed to be dipped into and enjoyed eclectically - just like Channel 4.
Results
The website is the perfect digital interpretation of the book, full of information and thought provoking pieces, perfectly encapsulating the 25 years since Channel 4 was born.
